Meet Rosemary!

Meet Rosemary!

Meet Rosemary! She's a 5-year-old smooth haired Miniature Dachshund mix who was brought to Lollypop Farm because the kids in the home were not being nice to her. Rosemary weighs just under 10 pounds, and is such a cute little pup. She is a sweet and friendly girl who would make a great snuggle partner. Lollypop Farm recommends Rosemary go to a home with kids age 14 or older. All family members should come in to meet her too since she hasn't had the best experience with children. She also needs to meet any dogs in the home to make sure they'll be buds. Come on down to Lollypop Farm to meet Rosemary! She'd love a new home and family to call her own. To find out more about Rosemary, call 223-1330 or visit her at Lollypop Farm at 99 Victor Rd., Fairport 14450. Lilly, our "Friday's Friend" from last week, is still available!

Scouting for food

Did you find a bag on your door knob last Saturday? The Boys and Girls Scouts are hoping you will fill them up with canned goods and/or used clothing and put them out on your porch.

Scout troops will be back around starting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday to pick up your donations. It's expected that 100 tons of food and clothing will be collected this weekend and then sorted and distributed to area food pantries and goodwill stores. It's a perfect time for re-stocking pantries that haven't had big donations since the holidays.

If scouts did not hang empty bags on your door, you can take your donations to any TOPS store on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m., you'll see scouts at the stores. Also, area Wendy’s Restaurants will accept donations through March 30.

Electrical issue caused deadly fire in Penfield

News10NBC has obtained new information involving a deadly fire in Penfield back in January. Investigators say they now know more about what happened just moments before the fire that killed nine-year-old Tyler Doohan and three other family members.

Tyler Doohan will forever be remembered as a hero. The East Rochester fourth grader died trying to rescue his grandfather from a fire at his home in Penfield. Penfield’s fire chief says an electrical issue caused that fire.

It was January 20 when nine-year-old Tyler Doohan was spending the night at his grandfather’s mobile home in Penfield.

Fire officials say Tyler was the first to notice the fire while his family was sleeping. He helped five of them make it out alive. Even Tyler made it out, but went back inside to save his grandfather, Lewis Beach. That’s when fire officials say the young boy died. Steven Smith and Barbara Beach also died.
