Local troops present Color Guard at Red Wings weekend games

The Rochester Area Ford Dealers have teamed up with the Rochester Red Wings to let local troops present the Color Guard at all weekend home games.

“The Ford Dealers are excited to partner with the Red Wings Baseball to sponsor this great opportunity once again,” said Dom Genova, representative for the Rochester Area Ford Dealers. “Local scouts, their troop leaders and parents, really enjoy heading onto the field with their sports idols and having the honor of presenting the Color Guard.”

On opening day last month, Boy Scout Troop 262 of Webster presented the Ford Color Guard during the National Anthem before the Red Wings took on the Buffalo Bisons.

Meet Baxter!

Meet Baxter!

Baxter is a super sweet 11-year-old male Boxer who was brought to Lollypop Farm after living with his previous owner his whole life. His owner was moving and couldn't afford to bring him along.

Baxter is a sweet and friendly older dog. He's a real lover who likes people and attention. Baxter is said to be like a shadow and will follow you around wherever you go and likes to be near you when relaxing at home. Lollypop Farm recommends that Baxter go to a home with kids age 10 or older and he must meet any dogs already living in the home. Baxter has some arthritis issues so while he may not be able to go for a long hike or play like a puppy, he would make someone a wonderful and calm companion.

Baxter is available for our Seniors-for-Seniors program where approved adopters age 60 or older can adopt him for free. Come meet Baxter at Lollypop Farm in Fairport. This lovable older guy needs a new home for his golden years!

I-Team 10 investigation: Millions in unclaimed cash that could help you, the taxpayer

The I-Team tracks down money to help ease the burden on taxpayers like you. There are tens of thousands of dollars in unclaimed cash that should be in the hands of your town or school district.

Right now, most of it is sitting in a state bank account doing nothing. The money is part of the state's unclaimed funds. The conventional wisdom is that it's just for individuals. But there are thousands of dollars that belong to the entities that tax you. The problem is they didn't know anything about it until they got a call from the I-Team.

I-Team 10 was with Romeo Colilli, the Assistant Business Manager for the Greece Central School District, when he was on the phone with the Office of Unclaimed Funds. The district is getting $1,504.78, money that the district did not know existed.

Harter Secrest and Emery LLP turns Cinderella tale into courtroom drama for sixth grade students

Harter Secrest and Emery LLP turns Cinderella tale into courtroom drama for sixth grade students

In honor of National Law Day, one local law firm is entertaining and educating sixth graders in the Rochester area with their annual mock trial play.

This year, the Harter Secrest and Emery LLP's courtroom drama was based on the familar fairy tale Cinderella and was performed by lawyers and staff from the firm's Litigation Unit.

HSE kicked off their play at Bay Trial Middle School  in Penfield on Wednesday. They will perform it again on Friday at 10:00a.m. at the Memorial Art Gallery for students from School 29 and 50 in Rochester.

The trial involves a breach of contract claim brought by wicked stepsister, Ima Wannabe, against Prince Smarmy seeking to enforce the terms of a contest that the Prince offered to all fair maidens of the kingdom. In that offer, the prince promised that, if a lady fit her right foot into a certain glass slipper, she would have his hand in marriage and share the wealth of the kingdom.
