Webster husband and wife combines interests in dance, music | News
As husband and wife, Webster residents Jamey and Tim Leverett are like any other local couple. As a creative duo, they can only be described as a force to be reckoned with.
Jamey and Tim Leverett have once again teamed up on a contemporary dance for Rochester City Ballet’s spring “mixed bill,” featuring a full evening of dance, this weekend.
As the company’s artistic director, Jamey is choreographing every step of a brand new piece as Tim simultaneously creates the accompanying drum music.
In the past, the couple also collaborated on photo shoots and some of the music for Rochester City Ballet’s critically acclaimed “Blood Countess.”
Tim Leverett is quick to point out that he’s NOT the dancer in the family.
“I’m a musician, entrepreneur and photographer ... I’ve been playing a number of instruments and drumming since I was 13,” Tim said. He currently is the drummer for the Tommy Brunett Band, a rock band based in Rochester. He also has a small company that makes educational software for babies and toddlers.
Tim has also been photographing Rochester City Ballet dancers for 15 years. But, that’s now the couple met.
They met at a Rochester nightclub called “Heaven” 20 years ago, and were married 16 years ago. They have a 10-year-old son, T.J., who plays football and the string bass.
