Local stable accepting riders, seeking volunteers | News

Heritage Christian Stables, a therapeutic horsemanship program for children and adults with developmental disabilities, is currently accepting riders and volunteers for the summer session from July 9 through Sept. 1.

Horse leaders volunteer to lead the horse and rider around the ring and are responsible for the horse during lessons. Side walkers volunteer to work with the rider.

Volunteers must commit to a weekly schedule for eight weeks and must attend training and orientation.

Orientation is held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 30 and training is from 2-4 p.m. June 2.

Riders ages 4 and older are welcome to register by June 15 for the session, which costs $280.

Heritage Christian Stables is located at 1103 Salt Road, in Webster.
