Meet Frost!

Meet Frost!

Frost is an 8-year-old male Dalmatian/Pit Bull mix who was brought to Lollypop Farm because his previous owner developed allergies.

Frost weighs 70 pounds, has a slightly goofy demeanor, and cute spotted ears! He's a sweet and smart dog who does well on a leash, knows "sit," and likes to lean against your leg when getting attention. At his old home Frost lived outside, so his new owner will need to speak to Lollypop Farm's Behavior Department about transitioning him to an indoor only home.

Webster veterinary clinic wants to keep that "small town, family-friendly feel"

Webster veterinary clinic wants to keep that "small town, family-friendly feel"

Our partners at the Messenger Post Newspapers caught up with veterinarian Dr. Gino Sementa last week and he answered a few questions:

How did you get into this line of work?

“We always had animals when I was growing up,” Dr. Sementa said, “And being a veterinarian was just always what I wanted since I was a little kid.”

How have you ended up in Webster?

“I purchased and took over the practice from Dr. Myron Bratton, who has moved to South Carolina with his family. I just started here April 29. I was looking to be on my own and in a smaller facility. Dr. Bratton actually contacted me through a mutual colleague.”

What is your background?

“I have been a practicing veterinarian for eight years. I was first with a private practice, doing an internship in New York City, then was at Stoneridge Animal Hospital in Greece for three years and the last four years I was at East Ridge Animal Hospital in Irondequoit.

Meet Max!

Max is a 7-year-old male Labrador Retriever/Standard Poodle mix who was brought to Lollypop Farm because his previous owner didn't have enough time for him.

Max is a big guy, tipping the scales at 104 pounds! He's a sweet and smart dog who loves to play outside, especially fetch with tennis balls. Lollypop Farm recommends that Max go to a home with kids age 14 or older and he must meet any dogs already living in the home.

Meet Kaida!

Meet Kaida!

Kaida is a 5-year-old female Lhaso Apso/Miniature Poodle mix who was brought to Lollypop Farm in an extremely matted state. She was so matted her left hind leg was being strangled and caused the circulation to her paw to stop which resulted in her needing her leg amputated. This hasn't slowed her down one bit--she is a lively girl who gets along well on her new tri-pod body. Lollypop Farm recommends that Kaida go to a home with kids age 14 or older and she must meet any dogs already living in the home. While in foster care she lived with 3 dogs and did well with them. Kiada has some issues guarding her food bowl so our Behavior department has been working with her. She will need an owner who is committed to continuing working with her through positive reinforcement. Training classes to polish her manners and give her some mental stimulation will also be necessary for Kaida and her new owner.

Meet Baxter!

Meet Baxter!

Baxter is a super sweet 11-year-old male Boxer who was brought to Lollypop Farm after living with his previous owner his whole life. His owner was moving and couldn't afford to bring him along.

Baxter is a sweet and friendly older dog. He's a real lover who likes people and attention. Baxter is said to be like a shadow and will follow you around wherever you go and likes to be near you when relaxing at home. Lollypop Farm recommends that Baxter go to a home with kids age 10 or older and he must meet any dogs already living in the home. Baxter has some arthritis issues so while he may not be able to go for a long hike or play like a puppy, he would make someone a wonderful and calm companion.

Baxter is available for our Seniors-for-Seniors program where approved adopters age 60 or older can adopt him for free. Come meet Baxter at Lollypop Farm in Fairport. This lovable older guy needs a new home for his golden years!

Meet Brooke!

Meet Brooke!

Brooke is a sweet little four-year-old female terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to Lollypop Farm. Brooke has the cutest scruffy cream colored coat and a friendly doggy smile. She can be a bit shy at first, but if you take your time with her she warms up quickly. Brooke gets very wiggly when you come to see her and enjoys playing outside in the courtyard. Lollypop Farm recommends that Brooke go to a home with kids age 14 or older and she must meet any dogs already living in the home. Brooke and her new owner will need to take training classes to help her manners and to give her confidence a boost.
