Principal kisses a pig at Scribner Road Elementary School

It was an exciting morning for the kids at Scribner Road Elementary School in Penfield. They got to tell their principal to pucker up for a pig.

The kids were challenged by Principal Hirschler to read one-million minutes and if they met that goal, he told them he would kiss a pig.

Hirschler says it's a good way to instill a love of reading for the students and have some fun at the same time. “Elementary school should be fun. Kids work hard, parents work hard, teachers work hard, and if you don't have fun, kids aren't going to remember their time in elementary school which should be special."

Hirschler says the school has been pig-crazy for the last five weeks. He says he's pigged-out, but luckily the pig was cute, so he kept his promise.
